ANNUAL REPORT 9TH NOVEMBER 2017
A busy, fun packed year with lots of activities going on.
We made paper flowers, played with modelling clay and learnt about book binding, we also had a mosaic workshop. We were treated to a whistle-stop tour of the USA in photographs and indentified (or didn't) strange Victorian objects. Because Mrs May called a General Election we lost access to our hall in June but we had terrific fun with our Beetle Drive the following week. We were taught how to save lives by Louise Cooper, our Community Responder and we heard all about the the many activities at Sue Ryder.
At the Tewkesbury Medieval Parade in July we had a wonderful set of costumes to wear courtesy of our very own Jo who co-ordinated all the costume making including handbags and hats.
In August some of us went on a charabanc trip to St Fagans near Cardiff - an excellent day out with free entry, fascinating buildings, lovely walks and some fabulous shops selling goods mostly from the 19th century. We then had a splendid tea hosted by Marshfield W.I.
Our September coffee morning raised £186 for our funds which all goes to help pay for us being able to invite speakers along to our meetings.
Also in September we had the Cotswold Vale Group handover meeting and we will be hosting the Group Rally in April 2018.
Another activity in the year saw one of our teams get through to the second round of the County Quiz.
Our Knit and Natterers met most months, the walkers wandered around Winchcombe, Tewkesbury, Staverton, Coombe Hill etc and the Lunch Club ate at The Rising Sun, Mythe Garden Centre, The Kings Arms, The Royal Hop Pole, Fromebridge Mill, Wheatpieces, The Aviator and The Apple Tree.
Finally Helen built our own W.I. website - if you go to uckington-elmstonehardwickewi.weebly.com you will find lots of photographs of things we've done, our annual reports land our programmes. If you are reading this then I guess you found it!!
