ANNUAL REPORT NOVEMBER 2022
Well, this was the year that we moved to become an afternoon WI and also to offering biscuits only as our refreshments. I think that this has worked well for all of us.
In February we had a wonderful talk from Roger Workman on the history of the Cotteswold Dairy and some went away with samples of their products.
March saw us being entertained by John Butterworth on his hotel with a famous guest. In April we had Sue Drage doing recycling with a difference, but I missed that. May was a member's night where we voted on the resolutions and had a Beetle Drive organised by Joan Lewis, thank you Joan. June was Sue Day talking about and showing us some ancient textiles then in
July Grayson Gilder came along bringing with him his various birds of prey, a fascinating evening for all.
This year some of your committee spent hours knitting, then decorating the outside of the village hall with, red, white & blue bunting in celebration of the Queen's platinum jubilee.
We then had our own Platinum Jubilee birthday party with guests from GFWI and some of our neighbouring institutes. A few of our ex members also joined us. Again the bunting came out but this time we used it decorate the inside of the hall.
As a result of our talk last year about the Butterfly Garden at Dundry Nurseries we had a trip out there in August and were treated to some amazing cakes and a cup of tea.
In October we had another Beetle Drive organised by Joan Lewis.
